Success is a journey – not a destination.
A good re-phrase that says, nodding, and then move into other things. But what does it mean? Taking a moment to interpret its meaning, a solid foundation for business and personal planning a small business owner or entrepreneur.
Consider these three scenarios “Success”:
1. Think of all the investors in the 1990s that millions in the stock market boom of the dot-com.
Buy low, sell high, make millions, you succeed. Three months later, the Dow lost 600 points in one day, the market continues to decline, and investors lost millions of people are left with no profit or even worse – you will still be successful?
2. Fast forward to Close Real Estate we are now experiencing.
Buying a home entry level, “flip” the money-Are you successful? Now take profits, increase this amount, then buy a bigger house, “flip” to make more money. -Are you successful? Things are good, this is a real estate seems almost automatic, so you have money, buy a property worth $ 1 million and change plans for $ 1.5 million, but the market turns south and all property lost profits and you can not find buyers for your home $ 740,000 – are you successful?
3. Consider now Entrepreneur / Small Business Owners.
You have successfully created your own company. You can reach break even. Are you successful? You reach the $ 1,000,0000 in annual sales of more than $ 2 million, then $ 3M – Are you successful? You sell your company to several million dollars – Are you successful? I tell you some of the successes achieved, but the journey continues.
Starting a business and achieve the level of success can feel successful. The successful sale of your business and make lots of money, you can feel successful. Maybe what you do after you sell your business has more to do with the feeling of success. I have been connected to a number of people who have managed to sell the business, and some of them do not wait until the age of 65 years to do that. I have to sell their company has “what next” and handling the successful sale of their company as a “success along the way.”
As an entrepreneur, the idea of ??selling your company to a large improvement attractive, and perhaps both inspiring and very motivating. The presence of a small business owner operator / is a string of successes and failures. As a businessman, I say enjoy the success you can reach heaven-knows that the failure may be more, but the effort itself to appreciate the success that comes your way.
I have sold my own business, I consider myself a success – not really. I really think my success as my measurement will be determined by what I do now. Planning is crucial to your success. And planning how the objectives and the level of success achieved is important. Many times selling your business started and maintained over the years can be very satisfying, but keep in mind that not always the end game. “Success is a journey not a destination.”
You are in a good relationship with a large family, and have a good friend – Are you successful? I say – So far so good … keep it going.
